Kimberly “Kimi” Alejo’s journey begins with the tragic loss of her NYPD father during the 9/11 attack, which fuels her relentless determination to seek revenge against the terrorists responsible. She joins the Army and becomes the captain of the 73rd Ordinance Battalion, stationed at a Forward Operations Base in Afghanistan.
The story delves into the heart-wrenching events that Captain Kimberly “Kimi” Alejo and Tyler St. Claire endures, including Tyler’s brutal injury and the horrific loss of their child, Olivia. Captain Alejo’s returns to the U.S. to bury their daughter adds to the emotional burden she and Tyler must carry for the rest of their lives.
Kimberly faces a difficult and emotional situation, torn between seeking revenge and dealing with her own feelings of guilt. Her request for a discharge shows a strong desire to mend her relationship with Tyler, her true love.
While back home, Captain Alejo receives a voluntary separation from the military and joins the NYPD as an explosive ordinance disposal specialist and stumbles upon domestic eco-terrorist group and an Iraq terrorist cell planning to bomb bridges in New York.
